Volunteering with Camphill
As voluntary organisations with charitable status, the Camphill Aberdeen City and Shire communities are actively supported by volunteers.
People come from all walks of life and all corners of the globe to help our work with children, young people, adults and the elderly.

Vocational Co-workers
Each Camphill community relies on caring and responsible individuals – some with families – who give their lives new meaning by joining the communities as co-workers.
These co-workers take on responsibilities in the community, creating a home life with individuals who have support needs and organising various aspects of the life of each community.
Volunteers
People come from all over the world to Aberdeen to work as resident volunteers in a Camphill community for a period of six months, a year, or more.
Many of those who volunteer with Camphill communities are taking a gap year – such as the German 'Zivildienst im Ausland' or 'Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr'.

Camphill Aberdeen City and Shire represents the shared interests of seven Camphill charities in the Aberdeen area.
The Camphill pioneers likened their first community in Aberdeen to lighting a candle on the hill.
Now that candle spreads its light widely.
More than 700 people live and work in Camphill Aberdeen City and Shire communities, offering education, therapies, training, work and living opportunities for vulnerable children, young people, adults and the elderly.
Internationally the Camphill Movement extends to more than 100 centres in 23 countries.
